Workshop of living Traditions 2026

For the International Day of Intangible Cultural Heritage on 17 October.
Craft you can touch. Fabrics that carry stories. An afternoon when living heritage is not behind glass, but stands in the room.
UNESCO has declared 17 October the International Day of Intangible Cultural Heritage: a day for what people can do, pass on and create together. That is precisely the heart of this workshop.
Together with the District Museum Osterburg (Kresimuseum Osterburg), we are showing fashion drawings by Helmut Rieck from 1949. Lines, cuts, the spirit of the age – captured on paper, passed on in conversation.
There will also be song and poetry, hands-on activities around textiles and craft – and a prize for the best historical costume. You may bring anything at least 30 years old: worn, inherited, rediscovered.
Refreshments will once again be provided by the Friends of the Schönberg Volunteer Fire Brigade. With their legendary potato pancakes. And more besides.
